CD 17 and I haven’t ovulated yet? The hell?
In fact, I just got my first high reading on the CBFM this morning. I usually get those starting on CD 11/12. This is by far the latest I’ve ovulated since my first cycle off BCPs.
I know that there are off cycles, of course. Still, my body (and now the monitor) is pointing towards an imminent ovulation (a date that’s much closer to the in-laws’ visit, which I had originally anticipated—weird and creepy). This off-ish cycle has made it more difficult to time sex, but we’re doing our best. (And having fun with it, I have to say.)
Between last cycle’s longer luteal phase and this cycle’s slightly delayed ovulation, I’m wondering whether I should temp again to see if a new pattern’s establishing itself. Despite what the monitor says, I technically can’t confirm ovulation with just the monitor. But the plan is to make an appointment with an RE as soon as this cycle ends; is it even worth buying a new thermometer that I’d most likely throw away after a while?
(Husband: Why didn’t you keep the other thermometer? Wouldn’t it have been good for everyday use?
Me: Hahahahaha. You don’t wanna know.)
Or hell, maybe the damn CBFM is just recalibrating itself. Maybe it’s all, “Oops, my bad—I think you probably O later and I’ve kinda, sorta been fucking up your chances to get pregnant. LOL!”
(Eh, that’s probably not true. When I was using both the monitor and temping, they lined up pretty neatly. And today’s stick was vastly darker than yesterday’s.)
But you know, bottom line, I’m going to stop guessing. Gonna round out this cycle and then make an appointment with the RE.
